I tried 20mm, 25mm and 45mm lenses from the Top of the Rock. I increased the focal length as I realized how far away and small the fireworks bursts appeared. This is a 25mm shot.
It was also pot luck whether the shots came out more or less in focus. I used a gorillapod on a railing and it was not the most secure method of keeping the camera still for long exposures. This shot happened to have less ghosting than most of my other shots.
