I was trying out a different technique with my sound trigger to see if it would work.
The normal method is to be in a dark room so that you can do a long exposure and have just the flash lighting your subject for a very tiny fraction of a second.
The only problem with this is that to have a dark room you either have to be doing the shooting at evening/night or have a room with no windows or very thick curtains.
I tried to have my sound trigger set off my camera and then for my camera to set off the flash, this way I do not have to use long exposures. This worked to a point, but I found that the party poppers were too fast and there must have been slight delays for the firing signals as I got quite a few shots of just empty containers with smoke coming off them.
I only really got decent shots when the party poppers would 'fail' in normal circumstances, and the streamers would not shoot out very far. This technique may be able to work on some other things that do not happen quite as fast as a party popper exploding.
