Do you remember lunching with Winnie the pooh
Waiting for your exceptance letter for hogwarts
Believing you would be the chosen one
That you could do magic
That your fairy godmother would show up any day now
That someday your prince would come
Or that you would turn into a mermaid
Maybe you would sing to a magic rock and go into Dragon Land
Why did it stop
When did it stop
Remember how much fun it was
How much more beautiful the world was when Santa Claus was coming
Someone ruined it
Someone who was mad that the magic was ruined for them
Who wanted to be mature
To make someone else feel stupid
That magic is what kept up all the hoping
Light at the end of the tunnel
For some of us whose childhoods were less then fairytails
That magic was our reality
It was our dreams
What showed up when we closed our eyes
What was always on our minds
They were our best memories
Maybe that was reality for us, those were the memories
Maybe at one point we did all those things
We’re too old now
The believing with all your heart is gone
I think we all still believe a little bit, maybe it’s more a hope
That you weren’t crazy
Or a liar
That maybe you were right...
