Beauchamp Falls

A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to revisit one of my favourite waterfalls in Victoria, the Beauchamp Falls, near Beech Forest.

The area had recently received very high rainfall. There was evidence everywhere of the power of the water surge that must have swept through; large trees had fallen and were in the river, the river bank was severely eroded in some places and a pedestrian bridge had been dislodged from its concrete footings and pushed aside by the waters.

The falls were still carrying a large volume of water, and this usually tranquil place was filled with the roar of the falls.

Still, I managed to clamber across the river with my camera gear, set up my tripod in the water and take this shot.
