This image is the second of two I'm posting in response to a push by Phil Kurchmeier for Round 22 of Get Pushed. Phil wrote:
My challenge to you is make a self portrait. Not of your physical self, but rather, of who you are. Show the things that are you, within it's environment. If you're a horse person maybe show a horse brush on a worn bench in the barn at the end of the day, focusing on the bristles and handle with your horse and stable blurred in the background.
On the technical side, only use 50mm, f5.6 or wider. Rely on selective focus to make your image. If you don't have a 50mm lens, tape your lens so it stays put on 50mm. In addition to manual settings, you may have to switch to manual focus to achieve your vision for this as well. You can use color or B&W and process in any way you like to convey you.
So this image captures the life I lead, and the things I love. I love my country life, my horses and the green grass of spring time. Brushing the horses is one of my favourite ways to relax, and I'll often spend time brushing them even if I can't fit in a ride.
Thanks for the technical push Phil!
(This is also my submission for Scavenger Hunt 101 - #49 Your Favorite Colour.)
